Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Ground Beef and Pork products are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Angus Brothers Choice 85% Lean Ground Beef Patties, sold in 2.5-pound wrapped packages containing ten (10)-quarter pound frozen patties with package codes 04318
  • Fresh All Natural Extra Lean Ground Beef, sold in 2.25-pound wrapped packages with a package code of 04118 and with a label stating “96% lean and 4% fat”
  • Fresh All Natural Ground Beef Chuck, sold in 2.25-pound wrapped packages with package codes 04118 or with a label stating “80% lean and 20% fat”
  • Fresh Ground Beef Chuck Blend, sold in 2.25-pound wrapped packages with package codes 04118 or with a label stating “80% lean and 20% fat”

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Ground Beef and Pork products subject to recall bear establishment number “965” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Oregon, Utah, and Washington state.

The problem was discovered when the firm notified US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) Inspection Program Personnel (“IPP”) that the firm’s sample of Beef Trim was positive for E. coli O157:H7 based on results by its third party lab. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Ground Beef and Pork products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
