Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Salami and other Meat products are subject to this recall:

  • Gusto branded Chorizo Smoked Paprika, sold in 6 ounce packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012812
  • Gusto branded Napoli Applewood-Smoked Salame, sold in 6 ounce packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012821
  • Gusto branded Sopressata Black Peppercorn Salame, sold in 6 ounce packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012811
  • Gusto branded Toscano Fennel Pollen Salame, sold in 6 ounce packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012805
  • Olli branded Calabrese Spicy Salami, sold in 175 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012807
  • Olli branded Molisana Pepper + Garlic Salami, sold in 175 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012808
  • Olli branded Napoli Applewood-Smoked Salami, sold in 175 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 1000012810

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Salami products subject to recall bear establishment number “M-45334” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations US nationwide and exported to Canada.

The problem was discovered when the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) performed routine Listeria monocytogenes sampling. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Salami Meat products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
