Canada/Ottawa: Loblaw No Name brand Meat Lasagna Recall [Canada]Loblaw Companies Limited, a Brampton, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of No Name brand Meat Lasagna due to suspected rubber fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health hazards. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Meat Lasagna products are subject to this recall:

  • Loblaw No Name brand Meat Lasagna, sold in one (1) kilogram containers with a batch/lot code of 2018 JL 31 and a UPC of 0 60383 89870 0

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Loblaw Companies Limited has recalled the above-identified batch/lots of No Name brand Meat Lasagna due to suspected rubber fragment contamination.

In general, if rubber or plastic fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled No Name brand Meat Lasagna products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
