Lotte Kancho Biscuit Recall Update [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) updates an existing recall for certain batch/lots of Lotte brand Kancho Choco Biscuits due to undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The original recall was initiated by Six Fortune Enterprise Co. Ltd., a Burnaby, British Columbia establishment. Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Snack Foods are subject to this recall:

  • Lotte branded Kancho Choco Biscuits, sold in 95 gram packages, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with a UPC of 8 801062 516858
  • Lotte branded Kancho Choco Biscuits, sold in 168 gram packages, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with a UPC of 8 801062 516858

The original recall was for the following Biscuit formats:

  • Lotte branded Kancho Choco Biscuits, sold in 42 gram packages, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with a UPC of 8 801062 144815

According to the CFIA, Canda Six Fortune Enterprise Co. Ltd. recalled certain batch/lots of Paldo brand Seaweed Snack products and Lotte brand Kancho Choco Biscuits from the marketplace because they may contain Peanuts, an ingredient not declared on the products’ label. This recall expands this original recall to encompass additional format sizes of the Lotte branded Kancho Choco Biscuits. People with an allergy to Peanut should not consume the recalled Snack Foods identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these Lotte brand Kancho Choco Biscuits and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
