Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken and Pork Empanadas are subject to this recall:

  • Chicken Empanada Wheat Shells filled with Seasoned Chicken sold in 9-ounce vacuum-packed plastic packages, each containing three (3) pieces and sold with various expiration dates ranging from October 15, 2017 to February 20, 2018.
  • Chicken Empanada Wheat Shells filled with Seasoned Chicken sold in 6-ounce vacuum-packed plastic packages, each containing two (2) pieces and sold with various expiration dates ranging from October 15, 2017 to February 20, 2018.
  • Pork Empanada Wheat Shells filled with Seasoned Pork sold in 9-ounce vacuum-packed plastic packages, each containing three (3) pieces and sold with various expiration dates ranging from October 15, 2017 to February 20, 2018.
  • Pork Empanada Wheat Shells filled with Seasoned Pork sold in 6-ounce vacuum-packed plastic packages, each containing three (3) pieces and sold with various expiration dates ranging from October 15, 2017 to February 20, 2018.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Chicken and Pork products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 5495” or “EST. P-5495” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in New Jersey.

The problem was discovered by US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) personnel during routine label verification activities.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Chicken and Pork Empanadas and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
