Canada/Ottawa: Paldo Seaweed & Lotte Kancho Biscuit Recall [Canada]Canda Six Fortune Enterprise Co. Ltd., a Burnaby, British Columbia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Paldo brand Seaweed Snack products and Lotte brand Kancho Choco Biscuits due to undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Snack Foods are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Lotte branded Kancho Choco Biscuit, sold in 42 gram packages, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with a UPC of 8 801062 144815
  • Paldo branded Roasted Seaweed Reduced in Sodium, sold in three 5 gram bags, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with an outer package UPC of 6 48436 33107 9 and an inner package UPC of 6 48436 30095 2
  • Paldo branded Roasted Seaweed, sold in three 5 gram bags, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with an outer package UPC of 8 801128 542531 and an inner package UPC of 8 801128 542524
  • Paldo branded Seaweed Snack Hot & Spicy, sold in three 5 gram bags, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with an outer package UPC of 6 48436 33105 5 and an inner package UPC of 6 48436 30094 5
  • Paldo branded Seaweed Snack Lower in Sodium, sold in three 5 gram bags, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with an outer package UPC of 6 48436 33107 9 and an inner package UPC of 6 48436 30095 2
  • Paldo branded Seaweed Snack Wasabi flavoured, sold in three 5 gram bags, affected batch/lots: all codes where Peanut is not declared on the label with an outer package UPC of 6 48436 10078 1 and an inner package UPC of 6 48436 10075 0

According to the CFIA, Canda Six Fortune Enterprise Co. Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Paldo brand Seaweed Snack products and Lotte brand Kancho Choco Biscuits from the marketplace because they may contain Peanuts, an ingredient not declared on the products’ label. People with an allergy to Peanut should not consume the recalled Snack Foods identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Paldo brand Seaweed Snack & Lotte brand Kancho Choco Biscuits and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
