Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Ginger products are subject to recall:

  • Sushi Daily Sushigari Ginger, sold in 140 gram jars with a best-before date of 02/06/2018 and a batch/lot code of 18081

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Sushi Daily has recalled the indicated batch/lot of its Sushigari Ginger sold in jars at its kiosks in some Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores because the product may contain glass fragments. The presence of glass makes this product unsafe to consume and presents a serious health and safety risk.

If glass fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Sushigari Ginger, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
