The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate Candy products are subject to this recall:

  • Palmer Candy branded Sea Salt Caramel Hearts, sold in twelve (12)-ounce clear, plastic tubs with a pink and brown colored label, a best-by date of 12/21/18 and a UPC of 77232-17091

According to the FDA, the recalled was initiated after the discovery by Palmer Candy Team Members that a peanut was stuck to the outside of the Sea Salt Caramel Heart.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Sea Salt Caramel Hearts Candy and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
