Canada/Ottawa: Liu Bi Hu brand Sweet Bean Paste Recall [Canada]J. L. Trading Co. Ltd. recalls certain batch/lots of Liu Bi Hu brand Sweet Bean Paste due to undeclared Soy, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Sweet Bean Paste products are subject to this recall:

  • Liu Bi Hu brand Sweet Bean Paste, sold in 250 gram containers; affected batch/lot product codes: all codes where soy is not declared on the label and a UPC of 6 909689 200005

 

According to the CFIA, J. L. Trading Co. Ltd. recalls certain batch/lots of Liu Bi Hu brand Sweet Bean Paste due to undeclared Soy.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Sweet Bean Paste and could be allergic to their Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
