The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Instant Coffee products are subject to this recall:

  • Chao Café Vietnamese Instant Coffee Mixed 3 in 1, sold 384 gram containers with a container code of June 06 2018

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Hong Lee Trading Inc. recalls certain batch/lots of Chao Café Vietnamese Instant Coffee due to undeclared Milk.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of Milk allergens in the packages of Chao Café Vietnamese Instant Coffee Mixed 3 in 1. These products did not declare a Milk ingredient on their product labeling.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chao Café Vietnamese Instant Coffee products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
