Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Apple-containing Salad and Starter Products are subject to this recall:

  • Meijer branded Michigan Harvest Salads, sold in 10-ounce plastic bowls with a UPC of 708820684003
  • Meijer branded Sharable Waldorf Salads, sold in 16-ounce plastic bowls with a UPC of 713733538640
  • Meijer branded Fresh Cranberry Apple Stuffing Starters, sold in 18.9-ounce plastic bowls with a UPC of 719283379771

According to the FDA, Meijer has recalled certain Meijer brand Salads and Starters due to sliced Apples that are potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The Apples involved in this recall were supplied by Fresh-Pak Inc., a company that has issued a separate recall for Apples in an earlier release.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Salads containing Apples, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Salads to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

The recalled product will be in plastic containers with printed labels and include sell-by dates ranging from December 17, 2017 through December 21, 2017. The products were sold in Meijer stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
