The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate Bars are subject to this recall:

  • Choceur brand Dark Chocolate Bars, sold in 5.29-ounce chocolate bars with brown and red wrapping, a best-by date of July 24, 2018 and a UPC of 4149817964

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after an ALDI employee identified almond pieces in the product. This product may cause an allergic reaction in consumers who have a nut allergy.

The recalled Chocolate Bars were sold in the following states and jurisdictions: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Chocolate Bars and could be allergic to their Almond ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
