Additional information:

Among the 66 recalls the NHTSA has announced this November comes news of the following:

American Honda Motor Co. (“Honda”) has recalled an estimated 2,443 model year certain 2017 Honda CBR1000RR and CBR1000RR SP Motorcycles. There may be a gap between the fuel tank cap seal and the fuel filler neck which can allow water to enter the fuel tank.

According to the NHTSA, if water enters the gas tank, the engine may stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

What to do next? Honda will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the fuel tank cap. If water has gotten into the fuel tank, the affected components will be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 4, 2017. Owners may contact 1-866-784-1870. Honda’s number for this recall is KH7.
