The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Alesto Snacking Pockets are subject to recall:

  • Alesto – Summertime Strawberry & Nut (Seriously Berry), sold in 25 gram packages with the suspected but undeclared allergen of Cashew Nuts
  • Alesto – Crunchy Seed & Nut, sold in 25 gram packages with the suspected but undeclared allergens of Almond Nuts and Cashew Nuts
  • Alesto – Golden Fruit & Nut, sold in 25 gram packages with the suspected but undeclared allergens of Hazelnut and Sulphur Dioxide

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Lidl UK recalls certain batch/lots of three (3) varieties of Alesto Snacking Pockets because they contain various allergens that are not legible on the packaging as the ingredients are not printed in English as required by the relevant UK legislation. This means the products are a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Almond Nuts, Cashew Nuts, Hazelnuts and/or Sulphite Dioxide/Sulphites.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Alesto Snacking Pocket and could be allergic to their Almond Nut, Cashew Nut, Hazelnut and/or Sulphite Dioxide/Sulphite ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
