The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Rice products are subject to recall:

  • Everest Foods brand Fried Beaten Rice with Spiced Poppadum Potato & Peanuts, sold in 350 gram packages with a best-before end date of May 2019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Everest Cash & Carry Ltd has recalled certain batch/lots of its Fried Beaten Rice with Spiced Poppadum Potato & Peanuts because it contains Gluten, an ingredient not declared on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for individuals with Coeliac disease and anyone with an intolerance to gluten.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Fried Beaten Rice with Spiced Poppadum Potato & Peanuts and could be allergic to their Gluten ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
