The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Chocolate Sticks are subject to recall:

  • Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks – Fine Dark Chocolate, sold in 60 gram packages with a best-before date of 28.08.2018 and a suspected allergen of Soya (Soy). This makes this food product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to Soya.
  • Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks – Fine Hazelnut, sold in 60 gram packages with a best-before date of 28.08.2018 and suspected allergens of Hazelnut, Milk and Soya. This makes this food product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Milk or Milk Constituents and/or an allergy to Nuts and/or an allergy to Soya (Soy).
  • Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks – with Speculoos, sold in 60 gram packages with a best-before date of 28.08.2018 and suspected allergens of Milk, Soya and Wheat. This makes this food product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Milk or Milk Constituents, an allergy to Soya (Soy) and/or an allergy or intolerance to Wheat or Gluten.
  • Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks – Fine White Chocolate, sold in 60 gram packages with a best-before date of 28.08.2018 and suspected allergens of Milk and Soya. This makes this food product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Milk or Milk Constituents and/or an allergy to Nuts and/or an allergy to Soya (Soy).

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, LIDL has recalled four (4) varieties of its Deluxe Drinking Chocolate Sticks as they contain various allergens that are not legible on the packaging as the ingredient are not written in English as required by the relevant legislation. This means the products are a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Milk or its constituents, an allergy to Soya (Soy), an allergy to Nuts or an allergy or intolerance to Wheat or Gluten.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chocolate Drinking Sticks and could be allergic to their Milk, Nut, Soya and/or Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
