The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Burritos and Wraps are subject to this recall:

  • Eight (8)-pound cases containing 16 Frozen Burritos sold as King Soopers Bacon Breakfast Burritos with sell-by dates ranging from 03/11/18 to 4/26/18
  • Eight (8)-pound cases containing 16 Frozen Burritos sold as King Soopers Carnitas Potato Burritos (Burrito Carnitas Caliente) with sell-by dates ranging from 03/11/18 to 4/26/18
  • Eight (8)-pound cases containing 16 Frozen Burritos sold as King Soopers Chicken Queso Burritos with sell-by dates ranging from 03/11/18 to 4/26/18
  • Eight (8)-pound cases containing 16 Frozen Burritos sold as King Soopers Spicy Sausage Burritoa (Burrito Spicy Breakfast) with sell-by dates ranging from 03/11/18 to 4/26/18
  • Four (4)-pound cases containing eight (8) Sandwich Kits of Shamrock Foods Grilled Chicken Wraps with sell-by dates ranging from 9/16/17 to 10/31/17

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 19822” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

Journey Cuisine notified FSIS on Oct. 30, 2017 that one of its products, specifically the Burrito Carnitas Caliente, had tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes during the firm’s product testing. After a review of the ingredients used in the Burrito Carnitas Caliente, the company determined that four (4) additional products may be affected and therefore contaminated. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Pork and Chicken Burrito and Wrap Products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
