Canada/Ottawa: Maple Leaf brand Chicken Recall [Canada]Maple Leaf Foods, a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Maple Leaf brand Chicken Breast Strips due to suspected presence of a toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria, consequential bacterial infection and risk of illness, all serious health hazards. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Chicken products are subject to this recall:

  • Maple Leaf brand Chicken Breast Strips, sold in 840 gram boxes with a best-before date code of 2018 SE 29 and a UPC of 0 63100 03089 6

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the CFIA, Maple Leaf Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Maple Leaf brand Chicken Breast Strips from the marketplace because they may contain the toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria. You should not consume the recalled Chicken products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chicken products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
