The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Cookies are subject to this recall:

  • Frosted Pumpkin Drop Cookies, round cookies topped with a dollop of off-white frosting and packaged in clear plastic clamshells with a PLU number of 024767 and sold between October 19, 2017 and October 26, 2017. The recalled Cookies were sold in the following five (5) Whole Foods Market stores in Northern California:
    • 3000 Telegraph Avenue, Berkeley, California
    • 390 Coddingtown Mall, Santa Rosa, California
    • 3502 Mt Diablo Boulevard, Lafayette, California
    • 450 Rhode Island Street, San Francisco, California
    • 1333 Newell Avenue, Walnut Creek, California

Please note: one (1) reaction has been reported to Whole Foods to date.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, five (5) Whole Foods Market stores in Northern California have recalled certain Frosted Pumpkin Drop Cookies because these products contained Tree Nut Allergens, specifically Walnuts, that were not listed on the ingredient label.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Cookies and could be allergic to their Walnut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
