The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Samosas are subject to this recall:

  • Sultan of Samosas brand Beef Samosas eight (8) kilogram portions; affected batch/lots: all codes produced between August 21, 2017 and August 31, 2017
  • Sultan of Samosas brand Ten Vegetables, sold in eight (8) kilogram portions; affected batch/lots: all codes produced between August 21, 2017 and August 31, 2017
  • Sultan of Samosas brand Curry Vegetable, sold in eight (8) kilogram portions; affected batch/lots: all codes produced between August 21, 2017 and August 31, 2017
  • Sultan of Samosas brand Mutton Samosa, sold in s eight (8) kilogram portions; affected batch/lots: all codes produced between August 21, 2017 and August 31, 2017
  • Sultan of Samosas brand Chicken Tandoori, sold in eight (8) kilogram portions; affected batch/lots: all codes produced between August 21, 2017 and August 31, 2017
  • Sultan of Samosas brand Chicken Paprika, sold in eight (8) kilogram portions; affected batch/lots: all codes produced between August 21, 2017 and August 31, 2017

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Sultan of Samosas has recall the above-identified batch/lots of Sultan of Samosas brand Samosas due to suspected risk of metal fragment contamination.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Samosas, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
