Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Cigarette Cases are subject to this recall:

  • Du Maurier-branded Cigarette Cases with a Built-In Refillable Jet Flame Lighter, sold with the Du Maurier Limited Edition Box Set. The metal case is multi-coloured and contains warnings and instructions for use.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, the recalled Lighters built into the Cigarette Case can be misused, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

As of September 29, 2017, the company has received eleven (11) reports of burns in Canada, one (1) of which required medical attention.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Du Maurier-branded Cigarette Cases, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. After October 14, 2017, you can also call Imperial Tobacco Consumer Relations at 1-800-932-9326 to obtain information on how to return the recalled Cigarette Cases free of charge.

Please note: the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
