The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Avid SD7 Bicycle Mechanical Rim Brakes.

There is a date code stamped on the back of the Brake arm with the date format DDMMYY representing the day, month and year of manufacture. The Brakes were sold separately by SRAM and were also installed as original equipment on ElliptiGO model 11R Elliptical Cycles.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, a rivet in the Brake assembly can loosen or disengage, resulting in brake failure, posing crash and injury hazards to the rider. SRAM has received five (5) reports of loose or detached rivets. No injuries have been reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Bicycle Brakes, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
