The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Betel Nuts are subject to this recall:

  • Frozen Areca Catechu (Betel Nuts) packaged in a plastic bag of various weights, four (4) nuts per package with a batch/lot of 160831, a best-before date of 08/2018 and an APN/EAN 3379141225786

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, sale of Betel Nuts is prohibited in Australia due to serious illness.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Betel Nuts, please do not use consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
