The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Chocolate Bars are subject to recall:

  • Waitrose 1 White Chocolate, sold in 85 gram bars with a best before end date of July 2018. All batch/lots of these Chocolate Bars are affected by this recall.
  • Waitrose 1 White Chocolate with Matcha Tea & Pistachio, sold in 85 gram bars with a best before end date of July 2018. All batch/lots of these Chocolate Bars are affected by this recall.
  • Waitrose 1 Milk Chocolate with Pistachio, Almond & Hazelnut, sold in 85 gram bars with a best before end date of July 2018. All batch/lots of these Chocolate Bars are affected by this recall.
  • Waitrose 1 Milk Chocolate with Feuilletine & Sea Salt, sold in 85 gram bars with a best before end date of July 2018. All batch/lots of these Chocolate Bars are affected by this recall.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Waitrose has recalling four (4) varieties of Waitrose 1 Chocolate Bars because they may contain Plastic fragments.

If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Chocolate Bars, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
