The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain John Deere model D105 Lawn Tractors with serial numbers beginning with 1GXD105, and certain service transmissions sold by John Deere authorized dealers for use in the D105 Lawn Tractor.

  • The brand, John Deere, as well as the model number are printed on the side of the engine hood of the recalled vehicles while the serial number is located on the rear frame of the machine above the left rear tire. A complete list of serial numbers included in this recall is available at

If your Lawn Tractor serial number is not on the firm’s Web site and the Transmission had been replaced from March 2016 through August 2017, you should contact your John Deere service dealer to check if the recall applies to your replacement service transmission.

According to the CPSC, the Transmissions in the recalled D105 Lawn Tractors can fail, posing a crash hazard. If this defect occurs, it could lead to loss of vehicle control as consequential risk of injury and/or property damage.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lawn Tractors, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the Tractor to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
