Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Laxative products are subject to this recall:

  • Lax Sachets, sold with batch/lots numbers of 7229215, 7229216, 7229217 and 7229219, an expiry date code of 12/2020 and an ARTG number of 202202. Lax Sachets consist of a powder that, after being mixed with water, is taken orally to relieve Constipation and treat Faecal Impaction.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to an error in dosage/administration instructions contained in the Lax Sachets. Specifically, there is an error in the labelling on the back panel of individual Sachets of four (4) batches of individual Lax Sachets with respect to the reconstitution information. The information on the carton and pack insert, however, is correct.

Incorrect Labelling: Administration: Each sachet should be dissolved in one (1) litre of water.

Correct Labelling: Administration: Each sachet should be dissolved in 125 mL water. For use in faecal impaction eight (8) sachets may be dissolved in 1 litre of water.

Please note: Following the incorrect instructions on the Sachets will result in a larger volume and more dilute solution to drink. This is unlikely to result in any harm to the user, but the effectiveness of the product may be reduced.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Laxative products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the pharmacy where you purchased it for a full refund.
