The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Toothpaste are subject to this recall:

  • Ausganica Soothing Herbs Toothpaste, sold in 130 gram tubes. All batch/lots of this Toothpaste are affected by this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Toothpaste’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this Toothpaste may contain an ingredient that is a danger to health. Specifically, it has been identified that Ausganica Soothing Herbs Toothpaste contains Comfrey, an ingredient that is included in Schedule 10 of Australia’s Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons because it is considered a substance ‘of such danger to health as to warrant prohibition of sale, supply and use’.

Comfrey contains Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids, which are toxic substances associated with liver damage and other health hazards.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Toothpaste, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
