Canada/Ottawa: Sue's Jerky brand Sweet Sesame Pork Jerky Recall [Canada]Soo Jerky Ltd. recalls certain batch/lots of Sue’s Jerky brand Sweet Sesame Pork Jerky due to undeclared Fish, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Pork Jerky are subject to this recall:

  • Sue’s Jerky brand Sweet Sesame Pork Jerky, sold in 40 gram packages with the product codes of 778085 or 775687 and a UPC of 0 65717 61053 9
  • Sue’s Jerky brand Variety Pack, sold in 12 by 40 gram multi-packages with the product codes of 776382, 777186, 778086, 776087, 776287 or 777288 and a UPC of 0 65717 61053 9

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Pork Jerky can be found on the Web site above.

According to the CFIA, Soo Jerky Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Sue’s Jerky brand Sweet Sesame Pork Jerky, sold individually or in a Variety Pack, from the marketplace because these products contains Fish, an ingredient not declared on the label. People with an allergy to Fish should not consume the recalled products identifies above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pork Jerky products and could be allergic to their Fish ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
