Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Boots are subject to this recall:

  • Dr Martens 1460 Vegan Boots, 1460 Vegan Boot – cherry red colour with gold heel loop

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the boots’ design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, the dye used to colour the fabric in the tongue lining of the boot contains traces of the chemical Benzidine. Expert authorities classify Benzidine as a Carcinogen (Cancer causing agent) and recommend that exposure be limited. In this case, prolonged and direct contact with the Boot lining may expose the wearer to the chemical.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm product contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any product, return it to your retailer distributor or manufacturer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect products.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Boots, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact the Accent Group on 1800 655 154 or by e-mail at AccentCustomerService@accentgr.com.au to arrange a postage paid satchel to be sent to your address for the return of the Boots. You will receive a full refund.
