The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken products are subject to this recall:

  • 1.31-pound packages of West End Cuisine Grilled Mediterranean Style Chicken Skewers Hand-Made with Chicken Breast sold with a batch/lot code of 172562, 172640, 172571 or 172704 and a UPC of 621588314947
  • 1.09-pound packages of Expresco Grilled Garlic & Herb Chicken Skewers sold with a batch/lot code of 172563, 172668, 172669 or 172670 and a UPC of 621588315555

According to the USDA, the Chicken products subject to recall bear establishment number “36” inside the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan and Texas.

The problem was discovered by a US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) import inspector during routine inspection of foreign shipments. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chicken, please do not consume it directly nor use it as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
