Polaris Scrambler All-Terrain Vehicle Recall [US]

US/Washington: Polaris recalls an estimated 2,800 Scrambler All-Terrain Vehicles (“ATVs”) due to suspected throttle release switch failure, possible unintended and/or uncontrollable acceleration and consequential crash and injury hazards. CPSC: http://ht.ly/mgA130eBy34

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves all model year 2014 through 2017 Scrambler XP 1000 All-Terrain Vehicles.

The brand, “Polaris” is stamped on the front grill and rear panel, and the model designation, “Scrambler XP” is stamped on the center panel. The recalled ATVs were sold in black, lime, red and white color schemes.

Model numbers A14GH9EAW, A15SVE95AW, A16SVE95AM, A16SVE95AA and A17SVE95AM are included on this recall. The model number is located on the fuel tank cover. To check for recalled vehicles by vehicle identification number (VIN) visit http://www.polaris.com.

According to the CPSC, the throttle release switch installed on the recalled ATVs can fail, posing a crash hazard. If this defect occurs, it poses injury risk to the driver, any passengers and others within the path of the ATV. Polaris has received nine (9) reports of the throttle release switch failing, including two (2) minor injuries.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Polaris Scrambler All-Terrain Vehicles, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Polaris to schedule a free repair.
