Among the 33 recalls the European Union has announced in its third report of August 2017, the following notification was made:

EU issues 33 Product, Toy and Vehicle RecallsUnbranded Carbon Monoxide Alarms, sold with a type/number of model: JKD-602, a batch/lot number of CN-8138 and a barcode/UPC of 5902367970307.

The type of hazard presented by the recalled Carbon Monoxide Alarms include insufficient sensitivity and operational failure leading to injury or death in the event of Carbon Monoxide leakage. Specifically, the Carbon Monoxide Alarm is not sufficiently sensitive with respect to the detection of ambient Carbon Monoxide.

The product does not, therefore, comply with the requirements of Europe’s Construction Products Regulation and the relevant European standard EN 50291 and withdrawn from the European marketplace.
