The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to recall:

  • ASDA 2 Peppered Steak Slices, sold in 2 by 150 gram packages with a use-by date of 19 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220
  • ASDA 2 Peppered Steak Slices, sold in 2 by 150 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 221
  • ASDA 2 Steak Slices, sold in 2 by 150 gram packages with a use-by date of 19 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220
  • ASDA 2 Steak Slices, sold in 2 by 150 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 221
  • LIDL Chef Select 2 Chicken and Mushroom Slices, sold in 2 by 150 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220
  • LIDL Chef Select 2 Minced Steak and Onion Slices, sold in 2 by 150 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220
  • Peter’s Deli Cheese and Onion Pasty, sold in 2 by 150 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220
  • Peter’s Cheese and Onion Pasty, sold in 2 by 150 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220
  • Peter’s Premier Chicken and Bacon Slice, sold in 180 gram packages with a use-by date of 21 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 221
  • Peter’s Premier Chicken Tikka Slice, sold in 180 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220
  • Peter’s Premier Chicken Tikka Slice, sold in 180 gram packages with a use-by date of 21 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 221
  • Peter’s Premier Sausage and Bean Slice, sold in 180 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220
  • Peter’s Premier Steak Slice, sold in 180 gram packages with a use-by date of 20 August 2017 and a batch/lot code of L6 220

According to the FSA, Peter’s Food Service has recalled the products listed above as they may contain glass fragments.

In general, if glass or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
