Canada/Ottawa: Canac brand Polyurethane Foam Recall [Canada]ADFAST recalls an estimated 573,673 cans of Canac brand Polyurethane Foam due to failure comply with the requirements of Canada’s Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001, under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (“CCPSA”), because they do not have the required warnings that must appear on labels and consequential risk of hazard. Additional information:
Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Polyurethane Foam is subject to this recall:

  • “All-purpose” Polyurethane Foam designed for doors and windows and sold under the Canac brand in 300 mL (340 gram) pressurized containers with a UPC of 200712130914. Only the units that are missing the “toxic” hazard symbol are being recalled.
  • “Professional” Polyurethane Foam for doors and windows and sold under the Canac brand in 600 mL (680 gram) pressurized containers with a UPC of 200802121013. Only the units that are missing the “toxic” hazard symbol are being recalled.

According to Health Canada, the recalled Canac brand Polyurethane Foam products do not comply with the requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001, under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (“CCPSA”), because they do not have the required warnings that must appear on labels.

The recalled products may be harmful if ingested or inhaled. The lack of the required warnings could lead to the inappropriate use of the product and pose a toxicity hazard likely to cause injury.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Polyurethane Foam, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the Foam to your retailer to obtain a replacement product bearing the compliant label.

==> If you wish to dispose of this Foam, please do so in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements taking care to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (“PPE”) such as a mask and gloves. Do not throw this product into the household garbage.
