Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves all model year 2015, 2016 and 2017 Youth RZR 170 Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles (“ROVs”).

Each recalled Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles has two (2) seats and was sold in a red, blue or white color scheme. For model year 2015 ROVs the brand, “Polaris” is printed on the front grill while the model designation, “RZR” is printed on the rear panel and “170” is printed on the front panel.

For model year 2016 and 2017 ROVs, the brand, “Polaris” is printed on the front grill and on the rear panel while the model designation, “RZR” is printed on the front panel. The VIN is printed on the frame on the driver’s side front wheel well, as follows:

  • Model year 2015 RZR 170 EFI red color, model designation: R15YAV17AA
  • Model year 2015 RZR 170 EFI blue color, model designation: R15YAV17AF
  • Model year 2015 RZR 170 EFI red color, model designation: R15YAV17BA
  • Model year 2015 RZR 170 EFI blue color, model designation: R15YAV17BF
  • Model year 2016 RZR 170 white color, model designation: Z16YAV17AB
  • Model year 2016 RZR 170 blue color, model designation: Z16YAV17AF
  • Model year 2016 RZR 170 white color, model designation: Z16YAV1CAB
  • Model year 2016 RZR 170 blue color, model designation: Z16YAV1CAF
  • Model year 2017 RZR 170 white color, model designation: Z17YAV17A2
  • Model year 2017 RZR 170 blue color, model designation: Z17YAV17A5

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the fuel tank neck can crack or the wiring harness can overheat or short circuit, posing fuel leak and fire hazards. Polaris has received 102 reports of cracked fuel tank necks and 28 reports of burning, smoking, melted and/or shorted wires, including four (4) reports of fires. No injuries have been reported.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Polaris to schedule a free repair. Polaris is also contacting all registered purchasers directly.
