Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Relighting Candles are subject to this recall:

  • Magic Relighting Candles, sold in packages of ten (10) Candles with an item number of 17178.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

One (1) additional image of the recalled Relighting Candles is pictured on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, candles that can spontaneously re-ignite are prohibited by law in Canada under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act as they re-ignite after disposal potentially causing fires.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Relighting Candles, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If you wish to dispose of the Relighting Candles yourself please do so in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect your personal safety, the local drinking water supply and the ecosystem. This would typically necessitate contacting your local municipality to find the proper hazardous waste disposal location.
