Canada/Ottawa: Dollarama Jump Rope Recall [Canada]Dollarama L.P. recalls an estimated 124,890 Jump Rope Two-Packs due to suspected elevated Phthalate levels and consequential risk of reproductive and developmental abnormalities in children, all serious health and safety hazards. Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Jump Ropes are subject to this recall:

  • Jump Ropes with attached plastic handles, sold in packages of two (2) in either of two (2) color combinations: blue/purple or pink/yellow and a product number of 14-3036420.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Jump Ropes are pictured on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, the recalled Jump Ropes may contain levels of Phthalates that exceed the allowable limit. Studies suggest that certain Phthalates, including DEHP, may cause reproductive and developmental abnormalities in young children when soft vinyl products containing Phthalates are sucked or chewed for extended periods.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Jump Ropes, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
