The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Protein Bars are subject to this recall:

  • Grass Fed Whey Protein Energy Bars – Dark Chocolate + Coconut + Almond (made with Organic Ingredients), batch/lot code: 13917
  • Grass Fed Whey Protein Energy Bars – Salted Caramel + Pecan (made with Organic Ingredients), batch/lot codes: 13017 and 13817
  • Grass Fed Whey Protein Energy Bars – Vanilla + Almond + Cashew (Made with Organic Ingredients), batch/lot codes: 13017 and 13817
  • Organic Vegan Protein Energy Bars – Apple Chunk + Cinnamon + Nutmeg, batch/lot code: 13717
  • Organic Vegan Protein Energy Bars – Chocolate + Tart Cherry + Pistachio, batch/lot codes: 13717
  • Organic Vegan Protein Energy Bars – Peanut Butter + Chocolate Chip, batch/lot code: 13917
  • Organic Vegan Protein Energy Bars – Peanut Butter + White Chocolate, batch/lot codes: 15317 and 15417
  • Organic Vegan Protein Energy Bars – Superfood Chocolate Chip + Fudge Brownie Batter, batch/lot codes: 13817 and 15417
  • Paleo Protein Energy Bars – Double Dark Chocolate Chip (Made with Organic Ingredients), batch/lot codes: 13117, 14017 and 14317

According to the FDA, Bhu Foods has recalled the above batch/lots of various Protein Energy Bars after it was advised by Hudson Valley Foods, Inc., the supplier of the Organic Sunflower Seeds used in these Energy Bars, that the Sunflower Seeds have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. No confirmed illnesses have been reported to public health authorities as of press time.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Protein Energy Bars, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Bars to the store or online outlet where you purchased them for a full refund.
