Canada/Ottawa: Yoplait Minigo brand and Liberté brand Yogurt Recall [Canada]General Mills Canada Corporation recalls certain batch/lots of Yoplait Minigo brand and Liberté brand Yogurt due to suspected plastic fragment contamination and consequential risk of choking, ingestion, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, a serious health hazard. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Yogurt products are subject to this recall:

  • Yoplait Minigo brand Strawberry Yogurt, sold in packages of four (4) by 90 gram pouches with the following batch/lot/product codes: 2017 JL16, 2017 JL22, 2017 AU01, 2017 AU07, 2017 AU13 and 2017 AU19 as well as a UPC of 0 56920 48953 1
  • Yoplait Minigo brand Raspberry Yogurt, sold in packages of four (4) by 90 gram pouches, with the following batch/lot/product codes: 2017 JL16, 2017 JL23, 2017 JL31, 2017 AU07, 2017 AU20 as well as a UPC of 0 56920 48954 8
  • Liberté brand Greek Raspberry Yogurt 2%, sold in packages of four (4) by 120 gram pouches, with the following batch/lot/product codes: 2017 JL16, 2017 JL29, 2017 AU11, 2017 AU19 and 2017 AU25 as well as a UPC of 0 65684 47963 4
  • Liberté brand Greek Coconut Yogurt 2%, sold in packages of four (4) by 120 gram pouches, with the following batch/lot/product codes: 2017 JL16, 2017 JL21, 2017 JL29, 2017 AU11, and 2017 AU19 as well as a UPC of 0 65684 48901 5

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, General Mills Canada Corporation recalls certain batch/lots of Yoplait Minigo brand and Liberté brand Yogurt due to suspected plastic fragment contamination. You should not consume or serve for consumption any of the Yogurt products identified above.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Yogurt, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
