The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Beef and Chicken Soup Bases are subject to this recall:

  • Molly’s Kitchen Soup Base Paste Beef Base Paste – no MSG added, sold in six (6)-pound corrugated cases with a lot code of 72505 239497 or 72505 239498.
  • Molly’s Kitchen Chicken Base Paste 301817 – no MSG added, sold in one (1)-pound white plastic jars with a lot code of 72505 239497 or 72505 239498

According to the USDA, the Soup Base products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 2016” or “EST. P-1278” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to food service distributors nationwide.

The problem was discovered when one of the company’s foodservice distributors was notified that a customer had received a case of product with mislabeled jars. The jar received was a Beef Base erroneously labeled as Chicken Base.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Beef and Chicken Soup Bases and could be allergic to their Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
