Canada/Ottawa: St Laurent brand Butter Recall Expands [Canada]The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”)  expands the existing recall for certain batch/lots of St Laurent brand Butter produced by Maurice St-Laurent Limitée due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential bacterial infection, a serious health hazard. Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Butter products are subject to this recall:

  • Beurre du Lac brand Butter, sold in 454 gram (one pound) foil-wrapped blocks with a batch/lot product code of 143 032 and a UPC of 0 62260 00455 6
  • Perron brand Butter, sold in 454 gram (one pound) foil-wrapped blocks with a batch/lot product code of 143 069 and a UPC of 7 72622 72454 0

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Maurice St-Laurent Limitée has previously recalled certain batch/lots of St Laurent brand Butter from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. This notification adds two (2) additional brands of Maurice St-Laurent-produced Butter to the list of recalled food products. You should not consume any of the recalled Butter identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Butter, please do not consume it directly nor use it as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
