The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Stockholm Three-Drawer TV Chests sold in Java Brown, Sonoma, Sonoma/Java Brown and Java Brown/Sonoma color schemes.

  • The recalled Chests of Drawers / Dresser Chests have a top open shelf area and three (3) drawers, and measure approximately 40-1/8 inches high by 30-1/2 inches wide by 15-3/8 inches deep. Each Chest has a model number of 249-09-2740, 249-09-0041, 249-09-2739 or 249-09-3429 printed on the back panel of the units.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled Chests are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children. The Chests do not comply with the performance requirements of the US voluntary industry standard (ASTM F2057-14).

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chests of Drawers, please do not use them if they are not anchored to the wall. Instead, place them in an area of your home that children cannot access. You can then contact Homestar for a choice between two (2) remedy options: a full refund including return shipping charges or a free tip-over restraint kit with virtual how-to instructions. Consumers who purchased the recalled Chests are being contacted directly.
