Canada/Ottawa: CLIF Bar Recall [Canada]The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalls certain batch/lots of CLIF Builder’s brand Mint Chocolate Protein Bars due to undeclared Peanuts, Tree Nuts and Coconut, all known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Energy Bars are subject to this recall:

  • CLIF Builder’s Chocolate Mint Protein Bars, sold in 68 gram bars with a batch/lot product code ranging from 2016JN19M6 to 2018MR08M6 with a UPC of 7 22252 60644 0
  • CLIF Builder’s Chocolate Mint Protein Bars, sold in a box of six (6) – 68 gram bars with a batch/lot product code ranging from 2016JN19M6 to 2018MR08M6 with a UPC of 7 22252 60444 6
  • CLIF Builder’s Chocolate Mint Protein Bars sold in a box of twelve (12) – 68 gram bars with a batch/lot product code ranging from 2016JN19M6 to 2018MR08M6 with a UPC of 7 22252 61644 9
  • CLIF Builder’s Protein Bars Variety Pack sold in a box of eighteen (18) – 68 gram bars with a batch/lot product code ranging from 2016JN18M55210 to 2018FE147095 with a UPC of 7 22252 61633 3

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled certain batch/lots of CLIF Builder’s brand Mint Chocolate Protein Bars due to undeclared Peanuts, Tree Nuts and Coconut, ingredients not declared on the respective product labels. If you have with an allergy to Peanuts, Tree Nuts and/or Coconut, you should not consume the recalled products identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Energy Bars and could be allergic to their Peanuts, Tree Nuts and/or Coconut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Please note: similar Energy Bar products have been recalled by the company in another jurisdiction, specifically the United States, for the same reason, specifically undeclared Peanuts, Tree Nuts and Coconut.
