The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Dips are subject to recall:

  • Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference brand Edamame Thai Spiced Dip, sold in 170 gram plastic tubs with a use-by date of 5 July 2017

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Sainsbury’s has recalled certain batch/lots of its Taste the Difference branded Edamame Thai Spiced Dip because the contents are actually Feta & Mint Yoghurt Dip, a product that contains both dairy (Milk) and nuts (Pistachios), neither of which is declared on the product packaging.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Dips and could be allergic to their Milk and/or Pistachio Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
