Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Salad products are subject to this recall:

  • Whole Foods Market branded Buffalo Style Chicken Salad, sold in 12.5-ounce clear plastic tubs.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Chicken Salad can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-8827” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to Whole Foods Market locations in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

The problem was discovered by Whole Foods Market employees whilst unpacking the product. The Salads contain Tuna, a known allergen not declared on the product label, yet the exterior packing / labeling identifies them as containing Chicken Salad.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession of the recalled Salads and could be allergic to their Tuna ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
