The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Processed Chicken are subject to this recall:

  • Overhill Farms brand Fully Cooked Organic Chicken Broccoli Bites Chicken and Vegetable Patty, sold in 30-pound bulk cases with a case code of 320422 and a packaging date of 08/30/16.
  • Overhill Farms brand Fully Cooked Organic Chicken Carrot Bites Chicken Patties with Carrots and Cauliflower, sold in 30-pound bulk cases with a case code of 320460 and a packaging date of 02/09/17.
  • Overhill Farms brand Fully Cooked Organic Chicken Sweet Potato Bites Chicken Patties with Sweet Potatoes, Quinoa & Peas, sold in 30-pound bulk cases with a case code of 320430 and packaging dates of 02/09/17 and 04/25/17.
  • Yummy Spoonfuls brand Chicken Broccoli Bites sold in 3-ounce boxes with best-before dates of 08/30/17, 02/20/18 and 4/10/18.
  • Yummy Spoonfuls brand Chicken Carrot Bites, sold in 3-ounce boxes with best-before dates of 02/01/18, 02/09/18 and 4/26/2018.
  • Yummy Spoonfuls brand Chicken Sweet Potato Bites, sold in 3-ounce boxes with best-before dates of 02/01/18 and 02/09/18.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Chicken products subject to recall bear establishment numbers “P2824”, “P6009” or “P44058” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations US nationwide.

The problem was discovered after the firm received consumer complaints involving bone fragments found in the recalled product.

In general, if bone, plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chicken Bites, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
