The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Fish products are subject to this recall:

  • 10-pound corrugated box of North Atlantic brand, approximately 8-ounce Raw Breaded Swai Fillet portions with lot code 23445 and a date code of 17122.
  • 10-pound corrugated box of North Atlantic brand, approximately 4-ounce Raw Breaded Swai Fillet portions with lot code 23114 and a date code of 17079.
  • 10-pound corrugated box of Channel brand, approximately 4-ounce Raw Breaded Swai Fillet portions with a lot code of 22888 and date codes of 17053 and 17054.

According to the USDA, the problem was discovered on June 14, 2017 when a distributor notified the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) that the Bread Coatings received and used by Channel Fish Processing in the production of the Breaded Swai Fish products may contain undeclared Milk. These Fish items were shipped to institutional locations in Indiana.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Fish products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
