Canada/Ottawa: Pie Shells and Tart Shells Recall [Canada]The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalls certain batch/lots of numerous Pie Shells and Tart Shells due to suspected risk of Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O121 contamination and consequential bacterial infection, a serious health hazard. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Pie Shells and Tart Shells are subject to this recall:

  • Green’s Meat Market brand 2″ Tart Shell, sold in 40 piece packages from March 8, 2017 to May 31, 2017 with no UPC listed.None Known distribution: Ontario from Green’s Meat Market, 237 Arthur St., Wingham, ON
  • Green’s Meat Market brand 3″ Tart Shell, sold in 30 piece packages from January 11, 2017 to May 31, 2017 with no UPC listed.None Known distribution: Ontario from Green’s Meat Market, 237 Arthur St., Wingham, ON
  • Green’s Meat Market brand 9″ Deep Pie Shell, sold in 3 by 190 gram packages from March 8, 2017 to May 31, 2017 with no UPC listed.None Known distribution: Ontario from Green’s Meat Market, 237 Arthur St., Wingham, ON

According to the CFIA, it has recalled certain batch/lots of numerous Pie Shells and Tart Shells due to suspected risk of Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O121 contamination. You should not consume the recalled Flour-based products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pie Shells and Tart Shells, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

This notification may be related to a continuing recall of certain Baked Goods due to Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O121 contaminated-Baking Flour. If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the contaminated Baking Flour or Baking Flour-based Baked Goods, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store, distributor or outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.
