Canada/Ottawa: Chippy Barbecue Flavored Corn Chip Recall [Canada]APO Products Ltd., Corinthian Distributors Ltd., UNO Foods Ltd., Wilby Commercial Limited recalls certain batch/lots of Jack ‘n Jill brand Chippy Barbecue Flavored Corn Chips due to undeclared Mustard, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Corn Chips are subject to this recall:

  • Jack ‘n Jill brand Chippy Barbecue Flavored Corn Chips, sold in 110 gram bags; affected batch/lots: all codes where Mustard is not declared on the product label; UPC: 4 800016 101328
  • Jack ‘n Jill brand Chippy Barbecue Flavored Corn Chips, sold in 110 gram bags; affected batch/lots: all codes where Mustard is not declared on the product label; UPC: 4 800016 101069

According to the CFIA, this recalled Jack ‘n Jill brand Chippy Barbecue Flavored Corn Chips from the marketplace because they contain Mustard, an ingredient not declared on the product label. People with an allergy to mustard should not consume the recalled products identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Corn Chips and could be allergic to their Mustard ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
