Canada/Ottawa: CFIA LogoDistribution Farinex (113712 Canada Inc.) recalls certain batch/lots of Gelsius brand IQF Whole Raspberries due to suspected risk of Norovirus contamination and consequential viral infection, a serious health hazard. CFIA: http://ht.ly/ZLOQ30cO0lQ

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Whole Raspberries are subject to this recall:

  • Gelsius brand IQF Whole Raspberries, sold primarily to the hotel, restaurant and institutional sectors in five (5) by 1 kilogram trays with a product code of D16083101. No UPC was listed for these recalled Raspberries.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the CFIA, Distribution Farinex has recalled certain batch/lots of Gelsius brand IQF Whole Raspberries due to suspected risk of Norovirus contamination. Hotels, restaurants and institutions should not serve and you should not consume the Raspberries identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Whole Raspberries, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
